When: Saturday, January 19th, 6:00PM.
Where: The Summer Palace Chinese Buffet in Hewitt.
It's been about a long time since the last geocaching event in
the greater Waco area, so let's get together and put some faces to
those geocaching handles.
The event will be held in the "back room" of the Summer Palace
in Hewitt. This restaurant is a reasonably priced Chinese buffet
that is a favorite with families in the area. In addition to the
usual Chinese menu items there is a wide variety of sea food and
baked ham with mashed potatoes. There is soft ice cream for the
kids. (and me!)
Since this event is more-or-less in celebration of my 500th
(600th?) hide, I'm going to add a special twist. As most of you
know, I'm good at hiding caches, but not real artistic when it
comes to cache containers. In fact, I'm about as left-brained as
it's possible for a person to be. So, if you wish, bring a
cache container with you to the get together, and I promise I will
hide it within the coming week. Feel free to be as creative and as
artistic as possible. Then when you find it, you'll think "my what
a creative container!" If you're like me, and not too artistic,
then don't worry about it. Just come -- I'll be happy to see
you.
I'd like to have a rough count of how many will be coming by Jan
17th, so post a "will attend" if you know you're coming. (However,
you can come even if you don't post.)
I'm also celebrating the birth of my first grandchild, a girl,
Laura Josephine Storms, born Jan 5, 2008 to my daughter Laura.
Mother and daughter are home and doing well.
