A drive-by cache on US-85.
This cache location is close to the old abandoned mining town of Cambria. Cambria was established in 1887 and abandoned in 1928 when the mines dried up. Cambria was a very special place. A town in which 23 nationalities lived in harmony. A model for tolerance and acceptance, we could all learn a little from the residence of Cambria.
To learn more about this town, stop by the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce and pick up the Beaver Creek Historic Loop booklet. You can also use it to accompany all the other caches along this route.
