Geocache Description:

The real treasure here is the walk through the forest and the opportunity to view one of the most beautiful groves of trees I have ever seen. There just happens to be an ammo can stashed in the woods nearby with cool stuff in it. The cache is located in North Charlotte's RibbonWalk nature preserve, and the grove of trees is an impressive stand of about 100 majestic beech trees some of which are 200 years old. Indeed, these trees which are spread throughout a deep ravine have been designated by the Mecklenburg County Treasure Tree Program as a "Treasure Tree Grove." Take the Beech Walk Trail until you come up on the ravine and take a seat on the bench close by. The cache is very near - you may be tempted to bushwhack to the cache before this point, but the terrain is rough, and you'll be better off waiting to see the trees first. This great park has many trails and several other caches nearby. Have fun seeking the Treasure Trove of Trees and enjoy nature at its finest.
