Geocache Description:

Another in XC and TK's Tongariro Cache series...

The objective of this cache is to either:

A. Entice those of you that want to venture a little further up the side of a volcano because maybe you do not have time or don't feel you are fit enough to do the Tongariro Alpine Crossing.

B. To reward those of you that have walked the Alpine Crossing with another find and a place to rest and write your log.


The track is very popular and if you attempt it in the afternoon you will likely encounter many tired tramper muggles coming down the mountain. Stealth will then be required so choose your time to nab the cache. It is a berocca container inside a TechnoKitten camo bag easily accessable from the track.
Grab it.. Sit down and have a drink while you sign the log. Please replace carefully as you found it.

If you are on the way down you have about 1.5km in a straight line to the carpark and buses.
