At the ruins of Clarendon Palace.
This is the remains of a large medieval deer park and site of Clarendon Palace which was occupied from 1100 to 1500 AD. Some of the trees here date to approx 1218 AD, 2 years after the signing of the Magna Carta. There is evidence here of settlement dating back to the Bronze age - over 6000 years!
This is a wonderful site and offers great views of Salisbury Cathedral if approached from the West.
The cache contains all of the usual stuff - notebook, some goodies and a travel bug known as Ducky Dog Tag II.
The cache is accessible by stoller if you have a 'cross country' type one - the last part of the track although pretty firm can get a little muddy.
Parking is best in Potters Way - please park considerately (N 51°04.013', W 001°46.338'). There is a slightly closer but limited parking spot at N 51°04.032' W 001°46.097'.
From the parking follow the road in an Easterly direction, pass through the gate onto the Clarendon Way, follow the road until the path breaks off cross country (N 51°04.070' W 001°45.526') - those with strollers can carry on road and take the next track right up the hill.
There is a great rest point with picnic table and views of Salisbury Cathedral at N 51°04.147' W 001°44.816'.
