The Fish Are Jumping! Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

tinwhistle: I moved away and was unable to maintain the cache. I finally had a chance visit and it’s gone. The only remnant was a half- buried pencil. Sorry to those who searched for it and couldn’t find. The area is now free to place another cache!

Geocache Description:

This cache is located at Glassman Pond Park, a nice little pond with bluegill and stocked trout. While here, try the 1/3 mile scenic trail around the pond.

5/26/14: This cache has been re-made, in nearly the same location as previous. It's a little larger with a bit more camo. The cache is located a bit off the main trail. The last 5 feet to the cache my require bushwacking. Approaching the cache from the main pond trail is suggested, especially during wet seasons. Lots of walkers and fishing people here at certain times, so please beware of muggles, especially at the cache site. It's located in PLAIN SIGHT of the trail, off the ground (out of the snow) although some camouflage has been used. There are a few remnants of an old barbed-wire fence to watch our for as well.

If you're driving, there is a small parking lot accessable from the McKay-Dee Hospital parking area at:
N 41 10.880, W 111 57.065

Historical note: Long ago this pond was called “fourth pond”, presumably because there were other ponds in this area of South Ogden, but probably long since paved over. If anyone has information on the location of these other ponds, I'd like to hear about it.
