Port of Indiana Multi-Cache

This cache is located at the International Port of Indiana. Its a public place to watch for boats, fish or get a different view of Lake Michigan. You can drive to just to both caches, so the terrain is not bad. It can be windy and cold in this area, so dress right.
The cache is hidden near the water entrance of the International Port of Indiana. Its a cool place and very few people know about it and visit the sight. The port is right on Lake Michigan. There is a steel mill located on one side and a National Park on the other. This is a commercial port area, so bring your camera as you may see some large boats/ships around. This is public area and there is a fishing area at the outer end. But since this is also an area of commercial port activities, there is a security check point at the entrance of the port. It is 100% legal and okay for you to be there - just show the guard a photo ID and if they ask, tell them you are going to visit the public fishing area at the end of the port.
The first cache is right off the main road. If you reach the grain elevator, you have gone too far. The second cache is right at the end of the port, near the parking lot. The second cache is a medium size black strong box that I got as a safety award while sailing with the Inland Steel Company. Its near the ground, but you won't have to get wet to find it (unless its raining). The log book is an actual vessel deck log book. I loaded the cache with some travel bugs, my daughter's toys, poker chips and a where's george dollar. Feel free to take the money, just please drop him in another cache (or buy ice cream....its up to you).
