Geocache Description:

Sound Barrier – Mach 3

The original Sound Barrier has gone to the great cache in the sky and has been replaced by Mach 2.

But what is at the other end?

Again you’ll end up on a bridge directly under the flight path. Depending on the wind you may be lucky and have the jumbos fly in from the sea. The jumbos also look impressive taking off as they rear up from out of nowhere over the barrier at the end of the runway:

I have not seen a Tiger yet:

But always plenty of Qantas, Jetstar and Virgin planes:

Like the original, this cache contains keys so please take a key and leave a key. You never know what you might be able to open, and be careful not to drop the cache.

The bridge is part of the Glenelg North Sturt Creek flood control program, which is part of the Patawalonga/Barcoo Outlet seawater circulation system. Don’t jump if you hear the sirens sound whilst standing on the bridge, it is just the gates below preparing to open.

You could also bring a skateboard or bike and enjoy the facilities nearby.

During the daylight you will need stealth as there are always plenty of muggles around.

Cheers

Rich from The Calumphing_Four.

BTW: The first person to exceed Mach 3 was Milburn Apt in a X-2 on 27 September 1956. Unfortunately it was the first and only time he flew this plane as he failed to eject safely when he got into difficulty. Click here for more info.
