Everyone knows the Mr Men don't they? In 1971 a boy called Adam
Hargreaves asked his father Roger what a "tickle" looked like. Mr
Tickle was the answer and since then over 100 million copies of Mr
Men books have been sold. Until a certain boy wizard came along
they were the most successful childrens books ever. Given that so
many of Harry Potter's readers seems to be adults then as far as I
am concerned they still hold this accolade!
In 1975 the Mr Men got animated, Arthur Lowe narrated the
cartoon with its unforgettable theme tune. In February 2008 after a
gap of 32 years the Mr Men are set to return to our tv screens with
a new animated show. Some of them have been redrawn and even
renamed. This seems a bit unnecessary, as I know my children are
quite happy with the Mr Men as they are. See what you think, here's
the all new Mr Men
webpage.
Anyway without further ado let me introduce you to some of the
Mr Men as I remember them. Which Mr Man or Little Miss are you most
like? Tell us in your log!
This is Mr Sneeze. He has a big red nose and lives in coldland
otherwise known as Runcorn.
This is Mr Happy. His wife has gone off with the kids for the day,
so now he can go geocaching.
This is Mr Chatterbox. Don't get stuck with him at an event!
This is Mr Mischief. He hides micros in woods and gives "tree" as
the clue.
This is Mr Greedy. He's very fond of power trails.
This is Mr Muddle. He tried to find his gps using a tupperware
box.
This is Mr Topsy Turvy. He logs a find and then goes to look for
the cache.
This is Mr Rush. He's only been caching for two months and he's
already found more than I have.
This is Mr Tickle. Inaccessible caches are no problem for him.
