Millward fire lookout tower and huts.
This cache is another in the fire tower series of caches. We have placed a regular cache (ammo tin) close to the location of the Millward fire lookout tower. Cache contains all the usual teamdundat genuine, no trash swapables for your exchanging pleasure.
Millward tower is now abondoned due to rotting timbers in the structure. It has been replaced by the modernisation of airbourne fire spotting. This tower was originally built here to provide close coverage of the pine plantations in this area.
The damaged timber hut at the base of the tower was used by a full-time smoke spotter who lived in the hut through out the summer period. This practise stopped in the early 70's.
We hope you get a chance to see this magnificent structure before it's 'downfall'.
