You received a new
GPSr for Christmas, you have heard all about geocaching, so
now what do you do?
Join us at the Mr. & Mrs. F.L.
Schlagle Library for an introductory course in geocaching. We will
convene at 09:30, spend a little time getting acquainted and then
start with general information about your receiver and the history
of geocaching. We will learn to find nearby geocaches on the web,
input the coordinates into your receiver and go on a hunt. We plan
on having experienced geocachers from the area to give hands on
help to beginners.
We will break at 12 noon for 30 minutes to
have a bite to eat. After lunch we will get into the more
technical aspects of geocaching. This will include pocket
queries, cache list management and GSAK. We will answer
questions until 02:30.
Please bring a snack or finger food to share
for break and lunch. A WiFi connection is available to those
with a KCK public library card, These can be issued at the
event, but it would probably be better to get one ahead of
time.
Check at Schlagle
Library Calendar of Events for more information. Space
may be limited, so register early.
