Hike Puzzle
Vier Geocacher müssen einen großen Wald von Stadt A nach Stadt B durchqueren. Cacher "1" braucht 1 Stunde für die Durchquerung, Cacher "2" braucht 2 Stunden, Cacher "4" braucht 4 Stunden und Cacher "9" braucht 9 Stunden. Die Cacher verfügen gemeinsam nur über ein GPS-Gerät und es ergeben sich folgende weitere Bedingungen für die Durchquerung: Four Geocachers have to hike through a wood from city A to city B. Cacher "1" needs 1 hour for the hike, cacher "2" needs 2 hours, cacher "4" needs 4 hours and cacher "9" needs 9 hours. The cachers together have only one GPS device and there are following further constraints regarding their hike:
  • Der Wald kann nur mit GPS-Gerät durchquert werden.
  • Aus Sicherheitsgründen durchqueren maximal zwei Cacher gleichzeitig den Wald.
  • Die Dauer der Durchquerung wird durch den langsameren Cacher bestimmt. Durchqueren also Cacher "1" und "4" gemeinsam den Wald, so brauchen sie 4 Stunden.
  • They can only hike through the wood with the GPS device.
  • For safety reasons, at most two cachers can hike through the wood at the same time.
  • The duration for the hike is determined by the slower cacher. In case of cacher "1" and "4" hiking through the wood together, they will need 4 hours.
Ziel ist es, dass alle 4 Cacher in der kürzest möglichen Zeit die Stadt B erreichen. (Dies ist in weniger als 17 Stunden möglich.) The goal is that all 4 cachers reach city B in the shortest possible time. (This is possible in less than 17 hours.)
Um nun die Koordinaten unseres Caches zu ermitteln, finde heraus, in welchen Paarungen die 4 Cacher den Wald durchqueren müssen. Bspw. (1 mit 4) von A nach B, (1 allein) von B nach A, (2 mit 9) von A nach B, ... Now, to get the coordinates of our cache, find out in which pairs the 4 cachers have to hike through the wood. E.g. (1 with 4) from A to B, (1 alone) from B to A, (2 with 9) from A to B ...
  1. X = Gesamtstundenanzahl aller Durchquerungen. Also bspw. X = 4 + 1 + 9 + ...
  2. Für Y addiere zuerst die Stunden jedes einzelnen Paares, bspw. 1+4=5, 1+0=1, 2+9=11 ... und summiere dann diese. Also bspw. Y = 5 + 1 + 11 + ....
  3. Für Z multipliziere zuerst die Stunden jedes einzelnen Paares, bspw. 1*4=4, 1*0=0, 2*9=18 ... und summiere dann diese. Also bspw. Z = 4 + 0 + 18 + ....
  1. X = Overall duration of all hikes in hours. E.g. X = 4 + 1 + 9 + ...
  2. For Y first add the hours of each individual pair, e.g 1+4=5, 1+0=1, 2+9=11 ... and then sum them up. I.e. Y = 5 + 1 + 11 + ....
  3. For Z first multiply the hours of each individual pair, e.g.. 1*4=4, 1*0=0, 2*9=18 ... and then sum them up. I.e. Z = 4 + 0 + 18 + ....
