Liverpools Peter Pan statue is one of the main attractions of Sefton Park. The statue of the boy who never grew up was donated to the park by George Audley in 1928. This Peter Pan statue was recently taken away for restoration, being returned in December 2005, and is once again a great attraction. It is located close to the recently restored Palm House at the above co-ordinates, and is within the security fencing around the Palm House. This Victorian glasshouse, which opened in 1896, contains plant species from Africa, Asia, America, Australia, and Europe. There are also beautiful sculptures, and statues of persons who have done important work and discoveries. The Palm House also serves as host for different forms of entertainment throughout the year, including dance events, concerts, parties, weddings, and ceremonies

Sefton Park is one of the largest parks in England. The park's history began in 1867 when the Liverpool Corporation purchased land for the park from the Earl of Sefton, and then held a competition for the design of the park. The French architect Edouard Andre and the local architect Lewis Hornblower won the competition with a park design in French style. The winning park design included a cricket ground, and a lake for recreation activities such as boating, and fishing. The park opened in 1872. Further development of the park continued with the construction of the Iron Bridge in 1873. The bridge, which spans the Fairy Glen, was a popular meeting place during the Victorian times. Construction of Victorian houses at the park's perimeter continued until around 1890. Today some of the houses serve as hotels.

Each cache has a container not far from the Peter Pan statue. Inside each stage one cache are the LONGITUDE and LATITUDE of two other Peter Pans. Find geo-friends, swop LONGS and LATS - and go find your own final stage two cache. If any of your team of friends with whom you have swopped Longitudes and Latitudes claim a find, then you can also claim their (overseas) find. This gives you a total of seven possible claimed finds.
To avoid a wasted journey, you will need to check their website to ensure that the Palm House is open. Although you don’t need to go inside the building, you will need to walk around the outside (within the security fencing) to see the Peter Pan statue, and work out the co-ordinates of the first stage (where GPS coverarge is very poor, so you may need to use the clue).
Your log will need to name the members of your team and tinkerbell may require a password from inside the final cache container!
Once at the Peter Pan Statue (at the co-ordinates listed above), turn and face the Palm House. In front of you there are two statues, (one slightly left, the other slightly right), with one being made of Marble and the other of Bronze. Walk around the Palm House starting at this bronze statue and ending at the one made of marble and create two lists, each of 4 statue names. The order of the Bronze statues completes the Northern co-ordinates, and the order of the Marble statues completes the Western Co-ordinates of the first stage of this cache.
This first stage can be found at N 53 2B.BBB W 002 5M.MMM
The eight statues you will find (in alphabetical order) are :
- Andre Le Notre (1613-1700) : Digit for Co-ords = 2
- Captain Cook (1728-79) : Digit for Co-ords = 8
- Charles Darwin (1809-82) : Digit for Co-ords = 6
- Columbus (1451-1506) : Digit for Co-ords = 7
- Henry the Navigator (1394-1460) : Digit for Co-ords = 2
- John Parkinson (1567-1650) : Digit for Co-ords = 1
- Linnaeus (1707-78) : Digit for Co-ords = 0
- Mercator (1512-1594) : Digit for Co-ords = 9
The final cache was placed with themed contents, and for the first to find, a certificate and an unregistered Liverpool 08 Geocoin
(Cache placed and maintained locally by : PhilPamandRob)
The final cache also contains a copy of the information that is in the stage cache. Thus, if you can't find the stage but find this with co-ords from geo-friends, you still get the required information for the other Peter Pan caches
CONGRATULATIONS to "Team Gingerbreadmen" on getting FTF at 9:37am/GMT on Monday 25th Feb 08 - Well done to you and your international Geo-Friends
PLEASE READ – IMPORTANT CHANGES – EFFECTIVE 01 NOVEMBER 2010
Since the Peter Pan cache series was placed in early 2008, two of the seven caches were archived as a result of changing conditions at their cache sites. These caches were in London and Brussels. In order for the series to continue, the coordinates contained in the first stages for the other caches in the series have had to be rearranged effective 01 November 2010. If you have obtained coordinates for either the London or Brussels caches from your team members in other countries then you will need to have those team members revisit the cache involved to obtain the corrected coordinates. If that is a hardship, please contact the appropriate cache owner to work out an equitable solution.
