Rancho Trabuco GS Patch Letterbox Cache Letterbox Hybrid

This cache has been archived.

Tissa1020 & Foxhound: We decided to let this one go. tissa1020 has moved out of State and Foxhound (who is still in the area) is too busy to replace it. Pretty sure the TBs who started here are all lost as well. Time to open for something new,

Geocache Description:

This Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates. You can go to them first or follow the directions below. You will still need the directions to find the cache. Letterbox contains Green Ink Pad and Handmade Stamp
This Letterbox was placed in conjunction with the Girl Scouts of Orange County, "Rancho Trabuco 2 Brownie-Junior Geocaching Adventure" event which was held Sunday May 22, 2011. Hidden by scouts for scouts.

girl scouts of orange county
Nine Cadettes from six different troops, four Service Units and TWO Councils (Orange County and San Goronio-Central) assisted Dopey of DopeyDuck (she is also a Girl Scout Leader) with the event! The Brownies and Juniors learned the history and basics of Geocaching and found caches placed for the event as well as two real caches.
They learned about Travel Bugs and during the event each troop/group made a special Travel Bug. A total of FIVE were made. They are being placed in this Letterbox to start their race to a Geocache at the Historic Georgia Girl Scout Headquarters there. They hope to make it there by March 12, 2012 - Girl Scouts' 100th Birthday! The girls are creating TB's to race from this cache to Daisy's Garden 2 cache GC1DTG8

Located in Pinecrest Park: 21310 Pinecrest, Mission Viejo, CA 92692; at the corner of Pinecrest and Santa Margarita Parkway. Park anywhere along Pinecrest and walk down the sidewalk into the park. Continue on the sidewalk on the left side of the park, along the athletic fields. When the sidewalk turns right, you will be at the beginning of the dirt path to the letterbox. Along the way, look for other boxes hanging in the trees. The first one we spotted was in a pepper tree on the left about 175 feet from the sidewalks; edge. These boxes are BIRD BOXES and a part of a 2007/8 Boy Scout Eagle Scout Project
              • Visit Link: Pinecrest Park Bird Boxes

              • *****Continue along the dirt path about 0.17 miles (33 39.340, -117 38.165) You will find a fork in the road. At the fork, STOP. Look to your right. You will see some small Oak Trees. There is a "geo-pile" of Leaves and sticks behind the one closest to the trail. Please re-hide at least as well as you found it.
"A Girl Scout always leaves a place better than she found it." And Boy Scouts AND Geocachers too!
This is a theme Letterbox. It started with about ten old patches from events of years gone by. Please feel free to trade a patch for a patch. We'd love to keep it scout patches but, any patch is ok.
