The Marlborough Mare Multi-Cache

This cache has been archived.

RoobyDoo: The cache had gone. I think it's about time the Mare is retired off now.
Many thanks to all the visitors over the years.

Geocache Description:

The Marlborough White Horse is on Granham Hill, above the village of Preshute, just southwest of Marlborough.
This white horse was cut in 1804 by pupils of a boys' school. The school was not Marlborough College but an Academy in the High Street, in what is now The Ivy House Hotel.
This particular Horse is unfortunately not as grand as others, but it does have nice views of Marlborough.
The above co-ordinates are the recommended parking location, which allows a circular walk.
It’s always a good thing to have a nearby church to assist in providing numbers for a multi cache! This one in question is St Georges.

Waypoint One:
On the wall is a plaque in memory of Harry James Tarr. Take the two years as ABCD - EFGH

Then make your way to waypoint two. On your way you should spot the White Horse on the hill to your right.

Waypoint Two:
The number horizontal bars on the gate J

Go through the kissing gate and head off to the cache at:

N51° 2(Cx2).(G-D)(H-J)(B-H) W001° 4(J-D).(G/C)(A+D)(H-C)

Walking boots are recommended as the cache location can get slippery and muddy.
To complete a circular walk, if you look north, you will see another kissing gate. Head for that and it will take you back to the beginning.
