Barrier Lake Viewpoint Traditional Cache

This cache is located at a terrific viewpoint near the summit of a rocky knoll in the Upper Barrier Lake Day Use Area.
In summer, park in the upper parking lot of the day use area at WP001 and head to the start of an informal trail at WP002 that will lead you up to the top of the rocky knoll and to the cache. In winter, you will have to park at the gate (WP003) close to Hwy 40, increasing the walk by about 4 or 5 hundred meters. The trip up the hill in summer shouldn’t take anymore then 15 or 20 minutes. In normal winter conditions it would increase to 40 minutes. The cache is hanging in a tree not far from a great picnic spot, well protected from those persistent westerly winds and offering wonderful views .
The cache is a small LnL in a hanger.
