Geocache Description:

Umbogintwini came into its own with the construction of an explosives factory on the banks of the Mbokodweni River in 1909. Today’s urban sprawl has linked it inextricably to the town of Amanzimtoti.

Umbogintwini, or “Mbokodweni” to use the Zulu spelling, means “Place of the Round Stones” presumably those found in the river. The village was originally established to house Irish Immigrant workers for the original Kynoch explosives factory.

This cache will bring you to a War Memorial which was build outside the Clubhouse to remember the workers that died in the first and second world wars.
