"Robbo`s Peak" Traditional Cache

Depending on which route you decide to take and there are many to choose from, a round-trip walk of at least six and a half miles (11 km) would be required to locate this cache. The cache is hidden near to the top of one of Arenig Fawr`s many peaks and the mountain itself is located just over six miles away (as the crow flies) from the busy town of Bala in North Wales.
Warning: - Please do not under any circumstances, underestimate the task ahead of you, when planning to locate this cache. Mountainous terrain can be and very often is difficult to negotiate even for experienced hill walkers. Therefore suitable footwear should always be worn and with no apparent shelter from the elements, I strongly advise that appropriate clothing for varying types of weather conditions should also be carried at all times. Take plenty to eat and drink as well, especially during the summer months as the human body can easily and quickly dehydrate. The mountain of Arenig Fawr stands at 854 meters (2801 feet) above sea level and from the car park, which is located at N52 56.260 W003 44.595; you will also be facing an ascent of up to 530 meters to reach the summit. Even though visibility can appear to be good at the base of the mountain, you can very often find yourself in cloud at 610 meters (2000 feet). Visibility then becomes poor and this is where good navigational skills are required to get you onto and more importantly off the mountain and back to safety. Again please do not attempt this cache if you are inexperienced at hill walking or have never scaled a mountain of this size before.
This is the first cache that I have hidden, but hopefully not the last. I am myself a keen hill-walker and this mountain is without doubt my favourite. The 360-degree views on a clear day are quite spectacular and I hope you are lucky enough to enjoy them on your visit. When you eventually find the cache, please sign the logbook, help yourself to any one of the contents but don`t forget the geocaching code and leave something in it`s place. Please then re-hide the cache well, so that it will not easily be found by muggles. I hope you enjoy your walk/hunt and once again be safe.
