This cache is less than 200 feet from the trail. There are some steep spots on this trail. Use caution when conditions are wet or there is leaf drop. Container is a larger ammo can.
I enjoyed the Tayloe's Iron Works cache so much that I decided to explore the area some more and add to the enjoyable hike back here on the many trails that can be found back in here.
To get to the cache:
By Foot:
Park at the non-4wd parking location. Then walk down Cardinal drive until you see a dirt road that heads up off the street to the left at the dirt road coordinates listed. Follow that further down until you get to the trail head on the left. If you make it to the billboards you have gone too far to find the trail head.
By 4WD:
If you have a four-wheel drive equipped vehicle, you can actually drive in through the entrance to the dump site and down to where the highway billboards are and park. Enter the dirt road off Cardinal at the dirt road coordinates listed. If it is not a wet day and you are a skilled off-road driver, you can continue in on the trail even further with your vehicle. If you get stuck, I live a mile down the road, just give me a shout and me and my trusty Jeep will come pull you out.
