Harry Potter & the Hunt for the Cache- Slytherin Traditional Cache
UBC Geograd: Was going to go out and replace this one tomorrow, but I noticed the July 2019 note from ZeiraZeira which I hadn't seen before. It also appears from my drive past/quick visit and previous logs that this site has become even more of a dumping ground as well, so likely no longer a good spot for a cache. My hope when I placed it here in 2008 was that the area would be shown more respect over time. This has not happened, and thankfully geocachers are not the problem here. The sad part is that this is public property and this so-called dumping ground flows straight into the Mill Creek drainage system and into our river. This one had a good run.

The Series: Harry Potter and the Hunt for the
Geocache is the Harry Potter book that you may have missed.
This is a series of six caches that will be placed in the upcoming
weeks around the City of Edmonton. The first four caches will be
named for the four houses of Hogwarts. The fifth cache will be
released for CARW2008, only available for those who have completed
the first four caches in the series. The sixth cache will appear
later, and only to subscribers of geocaching.com.
Slytherin Cache: This cache is located in the Mill Creek
ravine, or what is left of it. The ravine in this part of Edmonton
has been largely filled in by development. The cache is located in
a tiny park (which neighboring businesses have used to deposit
trash, unfortunately). No entry onto private property is required.
However, finding and signing the logbook IS required to claim this
cache!
The Clue:
For Slytherin is fearsome,
The nervous cacher aches,
But you must find the logbook,
Amongst this den of snakes.
I’m sure you’d rather scamper,
But the serpent that’s within.
Is privy to the capsule,
Which holds the log to win.
So if your trepidation,
Of all things serpentine,
Precludes you from the logbook,
This cache you must not find.
Finally, don't forget to take down the clue, in order to find
HOGWARTS when it comes out on March 8th!
