Geocache Description:

Congrats to Ertman110 for FTF!!!!!
This is the newest in the PM Graveyard tour series. Not a great hide but will hopefully improve as the cemetary does.

The Lost Town of Lepageville LePageville was a black neighborhood sandwiched between what is now President Street and the Savannah River. The rows of tiny frame homes stretched from what was then Southern States Phosphate and Fertilizer Co. to just east of Pennsylvania Avenue. The village, was organized in the late 1890s when the railroad built homes there for its workers. However, as larger industries began moving into the area and buying up parcels of land, folks moved out and LePageville gradually disappeared. The Englehard Corp., which ended up owning the property, deeded over 3.8 acres of land to the LePageville Memorial Cemetery Corp. Sadly, only one gravestone remains in the cemetery. Back in the day when folks were buried there, they couldn't afford traditional headstones. Instead, families placed whatever they could on the grave, whether it was a pitcher, a pot or even a hubcap. In Respect to the PPL who have been trying to clean and reclaim this area this Micro is located on the very outside edge of the cemetary. This is not one of my best hides and should be a easy park and grab. Since the Graves are not marked. I request that you use care when entering the cemetary if you choose to do so.
