The cache is a small, hide a key hidden in Relay, Maryland, outside of the Patapsco State Park boundary.
This cache is hidden in remembrance of our friend, Mr. John Barber. Known as "slow turtle" in geocaching circles, and "pooh bear" by the local hiking and scouting community, John passed away on Easter Sunday 2007. He enjoyed nice "SLOW" hikes in the woods and taking care of his scouts. He was Scoutmaster for Troop 873 in Ferndale, MD from 1995-2006 where he aided 13 scouts to reach the rank of Eagle Scout.
Enjoy his two active caches: GCQMN8 (873 scout cache in Patapsco State Park) and GCPMF1 (Mentor cache on the Appalachian Trail).
Slow Turtle was always good for a laugh. I especially enjoyed reading his short, capital-less, and punctuation-less posts. He always had a terrible time with the computer and logging his adventures. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please leave pictures and your memories of slow turtle in your log entry.
