Geocache Description:

The Birthday Bash of the year! Held at the Nene Valley Railway, Wansford. Thanks again for the NVR for allowing us the space & time to invade Platform 2 and it's environs (Cafe & all!)

Thomas' Birthday Party is the time for the children to come along, bring their mums and dads, grandmas and granddads or any grown up who might like to 'muscle in' on the day. Once here everyone can be hauled by Thomas on his own special Birthday Train to his new station at Yarwell where the party is being held. Once there they will be entertained by a clown, while enjoying their 'goodie bag'. There will also be the chance to sing Thomas a 'Happy Birthday' and have a photograph taken with Thomas himself. After the party travel on the main line train behind one of Thomas' bigger mates.

this will be a very special weekend for Thomas and all his many friends.

On this auspicious occasion and the fact there is a TB Hotel nearby we thought this an ideal location and time to hold an event. Many of you geocachers out there have small children and have visited the area and missed or just not seen the trains. Some have come, seen the muggles and ran.

At this event there will be loads of muggles around, we will of course be disguised as muggles! but you won't have to worry about being spotted.

If you want to visit Thomas' (official) birthday party you must book (details here) as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. (Booking starts from 15th May. Costs at £12 per child/adult.

Sited within 1 mile (Drive off, Cache & Drive on again) of the A1 Great North Road and near the junction of the A1/A47. 2 Miles west of the City of Peterborough on the Nene Way. Parking is at the NVR. Directions : Turn off the A1 at the Stibbington fly over, which is 1 mile south of the A1 / A47 interchange and 4 miles north of the end of the A1(M). Look for the large brown "Nene Valley Railway" signs on both the A1 and A47. Note: Avoid Wansford village on the opposite side of the A1. Parking : Free Ideal picnic and tourist spot and facilities for all (refreshments & toilets).
