A traditional cache hidden near a future construction area for Dubai
Dubai is going through an unparalleled phase of expansion. Construction cranes can be seen everywhere. While all this activity has already caused a number of the older caches to “bite the (construction) dust”, it has the advantage that it brings more and more geocachers to the Emirate with caches being hidden more and more often.
To commemorate all this activity this cache has been placed near a future area of expansion for the city. What was once pristine desert is now already crisscrossed by asphalt roads, complete with street lights and road sides. The first few buildings have already been built… how long before this cache also will be covered by concrete????? Better be quick and find the cache before it is yet another caching tombstone in the archive!
The cache is a traditional plastic lunchbox wrapped in our, by now equally traditional, camouflage bag. 4WD vehicles can easily drive up to the cache. 2WD vehicles can make use of the service road starting at N 25º 08.612’ E055º 26.017’. From the cache site you will have a great view over ever expanding Dubai.
