Sturdy's Castle is a spacious and friendly pub
that has a reputation locally for its excellent baked potatoes.
It is located just north of Oxford so is well placed as a
central location for a caching expedition along the Oxford canal
or many other caches in the area. There are over 70 Geocaches
within 5 miles and a staggering 330 within 10 miles.
The pub is a 400 year old coaching inn with a
good selection of beers and reasonably priced food and is ideally
situated by being close to Oxford (6 miles) and Banbury (11 miles)
with good accessibility to main roads being located on the main
A4260, linking to the A34, A40, A44 and M40. It is family friendly
with a children's play area in the garden, and dogs are of course
welcome, but not in the restaurant and owners must clear up after
them.

There is a huge car park to the side of the pub
so parking should not be an issue, but in the unlikely event that
it does get full there is an even bigger lay-by only a few yards up
the road..
If you intend to come to this event please can
you log your intentions below, and can I suggest you add this page
to your watch list as you will then be automatically notified when
we add any updates to this page.
For those wishing to eat at the pub
here's the
menu. You do not need to pre-order it's just to give you an
idea of what's on offer before you arrive.
As has become customary at the
Dreaming Spires events Sue will be running another Mega raffle to
be drawn at 2pm at the pub. If you have any prizes that you would
like to donate (especially wacky or Geocaching ones) please send us
an email with the details. This year we will be raising money again
for the nearby Dogs for the Disabled,
Last year you managed to raise an amazing
£200, I think it is going to be hard to beat this, but hey lets
give it a go.
Please click
here for details of the raffle prizes.
Why not make a weekend of it and
join in the fun at the nearby
Let's Go Camping In Oxford camping meet.
