Geocache Description:

BEWARE OF "THE ORB"

The Orb is a bit of a local folklore of origin unknown.
Legend has it that it was dug up during excavations whilst construction of the port macdonell breakwater was taking place.

Everything around it began to take an orb like shape, the chickens began laying egg shaped eggs, round sea mines began appearing in the sea, fish inflated to become what we now call the "puffer fish" & sheep began to walk in circles even more than normal. Only the cows where unaffected, because they are just great ;)

The towns folk were scared of its mysterious power. The force from within was too great. It remained where it was found from 1900-1910. In that time over 14 ships met there fate withing a 2 mile radius of the orb, no one dared to try and move it for fear they would curse the small fishing village.

Unsure on what to do next the locals called help from the city to neutralise the orb.

A elite team of villagers rolled the orb away from its resting place and placed it on a special cradle where it could do no more harm.

A guard station was built just next door to watch over it. Beware when finding the cache as they will be also watching you.

"The Orb" still remains one of the great unsolved mysteries of "The Bay" to this day, some even believe it has a soft creamy centre :)
