Geocache Description:

A kid friendly, regular sized, cache along one of our daughters’ favorite hikes.

This cache was originally meant as a replacement for the ” Llamas and Whales Cache” A cache placed by Team Trailgoon. It was placed on a family camping trip honoring my father’s 80th Birthday. They have since archived their cache, so we will be adopting this spot.

Like many families, we have grown to love El Capitan Canyon, and try to come whenever we can. There is something here for everyone, wither you’re staying in the canyon, at the state beach or R.V. park, or just passing through on the way up the coast.

The general store in the canyon is known for great food and coffee. In the summer they put on a great Friday concert series, complete with a chuck wagon barbeque. On Saturday mornings, they lead guided hike to the farms and allow you in to feed the animals.

The trailhead begins east of the general store and continues up hill past the organic gardens, where it meets the Bill Wallace trail. Continue on down the road to the Llama farm. The cache is near a spot overlooking the farm and the Pacific Ocean. Please don’t enter the corals without permission.

The cache is a medium sized, camo’d lock-lid container hidden on the lower limb of a tree.
