La enorme finca conocida como La Torre del Governador está constituida por un conjunto de edificios de estilos muy diferentes. Fue propiedad de Enric de Cardona i d'Erill, gobernador general de Catalunya a finales del Siglo XVI. Después perteneció a los condes de Santa Coloma (Siglos XVIII y XIX) y en el 1890 pasó a manos de Antoni Borrell Folch, político y financiero. Fue Borrell quien encargó al arquitecto modernista General Guitart i Lostaló la construcción de los elementos más emblemáticos del conjunto: El puente ojival flanqueado por dos torres cuadradas, el cuerpo cilíndrico que hay en la entrada de la calle del Greny o el Castillo fantasioso que hay al Norte. Todo ello inspirado por la vertiente medievalista de inspiración nórdica del modernismo.

Coordinates of the front of La Torre del Governador: 41º 29.953N / 002º 17.426E. Coordinates of the castle view: 41º 30.182N / 002º 17.268E
The huge estate known as La Torre del Governador consists of a group of buildings of different styles. It was owned by Enric Cardona i d'Erill, governor general of Catalonia at the end of the sixteenth century. After belonged to the Counts of Santa Coloma (XVIII and XIX) and in 1890 passed into the hands of Antoni Borrell Folch, politically and financially. Borrell was modernist architect who instructed the General Guitart Lostaló in the construction of the most emblematic of the whole: The bridge ojival flanked by two square towers, cylindrical body is on the Greny Street entrance or the fantasy Castle that there are at North. This inspired by the mediaeval inspiration northern slope of modernism.
In Borrell's death in 1910, by testamentary will, the estate was aimed at teaching and was directed by Escoles Pies until 2001, when it was sold to a property to be converted into a luxury hotel. The school building is Neoclassical style.
