Needles? Haystack? Hmmm... Oh - that reminds me: you should bring tweezers or similar for a log extraction tool.
This micro takes you in for a closer look at the Ibis. It's not where it was originally placed, so watchout for using any Phone-a-friend assistance. These avian versions are definitely larger, hence deFore!med, replicas.
Threskiornis molucca are identified by their almost entirely white body plumage and black head and neck. The head is featherless and its black bill is long and down-curved. During the breeding season the small patch of skin on the under-surface of the wing changes from dull pink to dark scarlet. Adult birds have a tuft of cream plumes on the base of the neck.
Its preferred habitats include swamps, lagoons, floodplains and grasslands, but it has also become a successful inhabitant of urban parks and gardens, and apparently roadside areas that border suburbs!
These birds like to nest in areas where they build up reeds into a suitable platform, and therefore these are well suited to this location.
Please don't tear up the place looking for it, though, as it should be easily spotted these days... and of course you realise that you are very exposed... that's part of the fun. Do you best to remain stealthy.
If you get frustrated, there's always the hint.
