Geocache Description:

This cache is for my Grand Daughters Tzdevil and Jbunny and pays tribute to a bird of the forest whom they have never seen, and are less and less likely to ever see.

The cache is a 1 liter lock n lock containing small trade items, a couple of pins, logbook, pencil, and pencil sharpener. Please replace the cache as you found it.

Not so many years ago this area was covered with forest. In recent years development has been allowed to proceed with little or no regard to what once was a wonderful home and habitat for many birds and animals. When you seek this cache take a moment to look around you and imagine being surrounded by trees as you are right at the cache site, you would not be able to see anything but this sight for a mile or so in any direction. Not what you see now, is it?

Now imagine this fellow looking for shelter and solitude as he once had in this area.

The Northern Spotted Owl is all but extinct, as we continue our path toward progress and development there will be no chance of seeing this bird ever again.

The cache is located along a new trail being created that leads further up the hilside, I suspect it will also be graveled in the future. Please use care and watch for muggles. You do not have to remove the container to access the cache, just read the hint.

Park at the parking co-ordinates and follow the graveled pathway up the hillside.

While in the area be sure to seek "My Walk With Annie & Ernie", click on the GPSr
