PT: Boliqueime é uma freguesia portuguesa do concelho
de Loulé, com 41,46 km ² de área e uma população de 4473 habitantes
(segundo o INE, censo de 2001), tendem uma densidade populacional
de 107,9 h / km ².
Boliqueime é o lugar de nascimento do ex-primeiro-ministro e atual
Presidente da República Aníbal Cavaco Silva. A Escola Básica e
Integrada de Boliqueime foi inaugurada no dia 19 de Setembro de
1994 e tem o nome EBI Prof Doutor Aníbal Cavaco Silva.
É também o lugar de nascimento da escritora Lídia Jorge (1946) e da
escritora e ensaísta Maria Aliete Galhoz (1929).
Mantêm-se vivas, ou, algumas tradições, tais como como feiras de 4
de Agosto e 17 de Outubro, com uma festa em honra de Nossa Senhora
das Dores, São Luís e São Sebastião, em Setembro, uma festa de São
Faustino, no Domingo De Pascoela. De tradição mais recente,
celebram-se, ou, em meados de Junho, como festas de São
João.Boliqueime começa a estar dotada de equipamentos sociais
significativos e tem uma vida associativa que revelam alguma
dinâmica, com diversas colectividades culturais, desportivas e
recreativas.
Para além da agricultura e do comércio, o turismo pode vir uma
constituir uma mais valia para uma freguesia de Boliqueime, que se
ergue num contexto de privilégio e à vista de grandes centros
turísticos, que constituem um desafio para o seu desenvolvimento. O
órgão de informação local, O Correio Meridional, poderá vir um
servir uma promoção de uma das mais interessantes freguesias do
Concelho de Loulé.
FESTAS POPULARES DE BOLIQUEIME
Dias 24, 25 e 26 de
Junho, a Junta de Freguesia de Boliqueime, com o apoio da Câmara
Municipal de Loulé, promove as tradicionais Festas Populares que
têm lugar em redor da Igreja. Nela participam activamente
colectividades locais que, com grande dedicação e entusiasmo( e
sobretudo muito amor à terra), fazem destas Festas um importante
evento social e cultural de Boliqueime. A gastronomia, o
artesanato, a música popular, com a presença de vários
acordeonistas, são os principais ingredientes das Festas que têm
também como objectivo dar a conhecer aos visitantes os costumes da
aldeia. São três noites em cheio, num verão que se pretende animado
e convidativo.

of the village. Three nights in full, on a summer to be lively and
inviting.
