We adopted Cinders nine years ago from a family that lived one
block from this park. Over the years Cinders has been on many
walkies through many parks and had geocached with me a few
times.
I knew today he would have one last walkie, so we shared a steak
for lunch and then I brought him here one last time so he could
leave us with some good memories as his last thoughts. The park is
dog friendly and Cinders was able to get one last woof at a passing
puppy as we struggled to complete our stroll. Cinders and I went to
the vet shorty after his walkie here. I returned and placed this
memorial cache. In additional to all the other fond memories I have
of him I will always remember how happy he was to say woof to that
other dog. He was full of more energy for the 2 minutes encounter
than he had been for the last 2 months. Now I hope he is in some
better place: pain free, chasing squirrels and tennis balls and
waiting for the steaks to come off the grill.
