Geocache Description:

This is a tough one that will take you near two reservoirs on October Mountain: Mill Brook Reservoir, which is washed out, and Farnum's Reservoir.

If you have a fear of heights or are known for unsure feet stay clear of this cache. The coordinates given are for part 1, which brings you up a dirt road to the old Mill Brook Reservoir. I remember a time when we were kids we used to be able to walk across the whole thing. It has since washed out and crumbled into a potentially dangerous area. You'll need to find a way into the room that is still intact on the dam (pictured). You're looking for a clue that will help you to figure the coordinates for the 2nd (final) part (also pictured).

To find the coordinates for the final read the following update from Gary sent to me on 11-26-2012:

Steve

We replaced stage one of Snowday 1-14-08 with a magnetic nano stuck to exposed rebar above one of the windows, it's almost as high as the beam. It has the coordinates of the final, not the number of the clue you talk about in the cache description. The final was in good shape.

Gary

When, and if, you ever make it to the final you may need equipment such as an ice axe and crampons if climbing up during the winter or perhaps a harness and some rope if you fancy rappelling. I didn't need any equipment, and find the climb to be short and easy. You could also find an alternate route to the cache that may make it even easier.
