3/4 mile (round trip) easy hike with views of Mumford Cove. Follow the blue trail markers (ie: take a right at the fork!). Parking coords provided.
While driving around finding caches in the area, I discovered this little known nature trail which is part of the Groton Long Point Conversavation Area.
The blue trail markers will take you to a nice view of Mumford Cove (from GLP). Round trip hike is about 3/4 mile from the parking lot, but you can start at the alternative trail head (along Island Ave) for a 1.5 miles round trip hike if you're looking for some excersize (note: I'm not aware of where to park at the alternative trail head). Bring your dog!
Since the end of the trail takes you to a small beach, muggle rating could be high during the summer months. Therefore the cache is placed just short of the beach area. You're looking for a tubular ammo can. Enjoy and take pictures!
