In the original location,
In a large size ammo can, (you just can't beat an ammo can for longevity)
With the original log that was all nice and dry, (no baggy)
With a 51% favorites from 62 'found its',
An GGA nominated 2010 Most Out Standing Metal Challenge awarded winner,
Having only 4 DNF's,
Only one non cacher found the geocache and was the last person to sign the log.
I feel this geocache should be archived.
In 2008 most geocaches were not P&G's. They were 'adventurous' where hiking and discovering awesome POI captivated geocachers producing geocache enthusiasts. Then, when this geocache was published, the trend went to puzzle caches and challenge geocaches. Shortly after this tend, the app came out. The app produced lots of P&G's due to the entry level having no initial investment to get started with geocaching. When I started, President Clinton had just reduced the accuracy of GPS units allowing civilians to purchase GPS'rs. Digital note pads and cameras were the standard items to take with you while geocaching. To start to find a cache back then was costing hundreds of dollars for the equipment just to find a geocache.
Now days, one downloads the app, then finds a P&G, and this becomes the base line for them for geocaching. Not much information is facing new geocachers like ethical geocaching practices. A geocache like this one is non attractive to today's geocacher since so many geocaches are available, such as geocache trails. So why would today's cachers spend time solving a puzzle like this?
So with that, it doesn't make since to keep maintaining a cache that only see's a visitor a few times in a decade. I had a lot of fun creating this puzzle and most seekers enjoyed the accomplishment of their solve. The Germans in WWII created the enigma. Its fun to play with to coded messages. I would guess the end to end encrypted TXT messages are a little harder to crack!
The area is now opened up for someone to put out what I would say is the current trend, a micro sized container the a parking lot.
