Arty Smarty Mystery Cache

This cache is located along the Helen Johnson Woodworth Memorial Trail in the Vassar Farms property of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie. This can be accessed from Rte. 376 / Hooker Avenue across from Raymond Avenue. There are some great nature trails on the property for hiking and mountain biking. I haven’t been here without coming across people walking their dogs as they are also welcome as long as they are leashed.
This cache is a two-stage multi with an "art themed" twist. The first stage is at the given coordinates and will be a 2” square container. Inside the container, you’ll find six colored blocks with numbers on them. Your task will be to arrange the blocks in order to find the missing coordinates for the final. You don’t need an advanced degree in art to figure it out. As a matter of fact, a grade school child could be a great help as the key to the answer is one of the first lessons learned in art class. Please DO NOT take the blocks. Return them to the container for the next cacher.

Both stages are within 10 feet of the trail, so no bushwacking is necessary. This cache is now NOT so winter friendly if we get a lot of snow as the first stage is now near the ground due to mother nature changing the landscape. Using the hints could help you find it if there is snow. The final is a 6”x 8” cylindrical Lock-n-Lock container. You should be able to complete this cache in around an hour or so if only doing this one…however, there is another cache (L7) nearby by YackersInTheWoods that is a short distance away that can be found from the same trails. Yackers also has some nice map links for this area on that cache page.
Cache starts off with some artsy swag, a geocoin and travelbug, and an engraved, non-trackable FTF coin for the first cacher to complete this puzzle.
