Lower Alabama Meet and
Greet
Anyone interested in Geocaching and
meeting your fellow cachers or have recieved a GPS for Christmas
and living in the coastal regions of Alabama, Mississippi, or
Northwest Florida is invited to the Gulf Coast Meet and Greet which
will be held starting at 10:00AM March 1st, 2008 at the Barnes and
Noble Book Store in Mobile, Alabama. The hope is that this Greet
and Meet will become a regular event held every other
month.
Put faces to the names in
the logbooks, swap travel bugs and geocoins, tell tall tales, etc.
There will be a logbook to sign. And this time I promise I'll
remember to bring a log book!
As an added treat for you
new to Geocaching or if you from out of town there are 3 caches
within a mile of the Greet and Meet and over 100 caches within a 10
mile radius of the Greet and Meet.
Feel free to bring your friends or significant but disinterested
other to the event. Even if they could care less about geocaching
Barnes and Noble and the Mall at large will have plenty for them to
do while we talk cache.
Directly after the Meet and Greet
there will be a cache Run lead by FamilyinFilm for those who enjoy
caching as a group. We start at the Battleship and then
proceed south on US 98 – only picking up caches on the
southbound side of highway 98 all the way to Weeks Bay. We
are only hitting caches that are 2/2 or higher or that the
two numbers averaged would give you a 2. This leaves plenty
of caches for people to grab on another trip. Click here to

I am going to Arizona for my
brother's wedding on March the 12th, so if you have any
travelbugs or coins that want to head west I can make sure
they will get as far as Mesa, AZ.-

From Mississippi: Take I-10 East till exit
20, and turn right onto I-65 North go approximately 3 miles and
exit right onto Airport Boulevard eastbound and Barnes and Noble is
in the shopping center at the first traffic light. Make a left at
the light into the shopping mall.
From Florida: Take I-10 West till exit 20,
and turn right onto I-65 North go approximately 3 miles and exit
right onto Airport Boulevard eastbound and Barnes and Noble is in
the shopping center at the first traffic light. Make a left at the
light into the shopping mall.

attending, please add this event to your watchlist in case any
information changes.
The location for the Greet and Meet is
inside the Barnes and Noble Book Store at its cafe. Barnes and
Noble is located in the Springdale Shopping Center, 3250 Airport
Blvd B-30. The Cafe is to the right as you walk in the front
door.
The cafe offers a section of different types
of Coffee, teas, hot chocolate, Sodas, and several sweets such as
Pie, Cookies, Scones, and tea biscuits.... If you would like
something a little more nutritious after the
Meet and
Greet the Mall has a food court and there are
over 95 eateries within 2 miles of the mall. Drop me a line
and mention your preferred type of fair and I'll provide
directions to the restaurant of your choice.
