Nice hike in the Simcoe County Forest
Caston Tract.;
Replaced this cache in Winter 2009 ready for a Spring event in
Elmvale. It's not far from the MOST 415 snowmobile trail and can be
reached in Winter (suggest snow shoes might be needed for the 50m
trek off side of packed snowmobile trail) and Summer. Trail can be
accessed from either Flos Road 7 E or a longer hike from Flos Road
5 E. Trail can be entered through main gate off Flos Rd.7 at N44
34.199 W079 49.918 (follow this trail until parallel to cache to
minimize bushwacking) or a couple of secondary entrances further
east along Flos Rd.7 will require substantially more bushwacking
but overall shorter distance. There are several other caches in
this forest including Caston 1. The replaced container is now a
medium sized ammo can. It contained a bounty of trading goods when
replaced with something for every family member and TB plus
geocoin. There is a log book and pencil if you did not bring a
writing instrument. About 100m of bushwacking off side of the
trail.
