On a clear, snowy, winter day, OBE, Cache Ahead, and I came to
this spot looking for the benchmark SX1315. We had no luck finding
the benchmark under the three feet of snow and the slash pile, so I
left a cache to entice others to come and have a look for
themselves.
There is more than one route to this cache, so consult your topo
maps for a way that makes sense for you. If you want to follow our
route, start at the Snoqualmie Point trailhead. Follow the
Snoqualmie Mountain Trail until you reach the junction with a
logging road at 1900 feet and approximately N47 29.767 W121 50.299.
Turn right up the logging road and then right again at the next
spur. From this road you'll bushwhack up to another logging road.
We started our bushwhack at N47 29.786 W121 50.571 and hit the road
about a quarter of a mile and 200 feet later at N47 29.680 W121
50.841. Your mileage and difficulty may vary. Follow the road south
and then another road west to the cache site. Alternately, I think
you can find your way completely on logging roads, but I'll leave
that up to you.
You're looking for an ammo can.
