This cache is a small military decon container located at the scenic overlook on the Woronoco Trail in Pawtuckaway State Park
As a member of NEMBA (New England Mountain Bike Association) I have helped maintain and build many trails in the state parks of southern NH. In the spring of 2004 we built a trail in Pawtuckaway("Land of the Big Buck") that runs from Mountain Pond to the Fundy Trail. As requested by state officials we tried to keep the name of the trail connected to its Native American theme. We named this twisty, gnarly trail over two miles long the "Woronoco"("Winding About") This is also a great hiking or snowshoe trail as well. About half way into this trail is an "overlook" sign on a tree. Here you can see the rocky and eroded side of South Mountain. If you look up to the center of this mountain you can also see the top of the fire tower. From this area you can also find the cache. The distance from the main parking lot to the cache is 1.23 miles. The trailhead (43 05 048 071 10 469)begins a short distance from the parking lot, down the hill, past the pond and on your left.
