GeoCrater: I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no word from the owner in the month or more since the last reviewer note was posted. If you want to re-activate the cache during the next couple of months, please contact GeoCrater to see if that's possible. If the cache meets current guidelines, consideration will be given based on the circumstances surrounding the original archival.

NOTE: My preferred method of communication is through notes on the cache page in question. However, should you wish to use email - please do not select "reply". In general, a replay to the geocaching.com mail bot will not reach me. Instead, please go to your cache page and e-mail GeoCrater from the log there or email me directly at geocrater@gmail.com, referencing the cache URL, or waypoint number.

Geocache Description:

Powell Butte - Portland Parks Bureau. Forests, meadows, trails, and on clear days you get stunning views of Mts. Hood and St. Helens.

Gated parking lot with seasonal closing hours. See the website (click on the link above near the cache ratings) for details.

I recommend parking in the main lot (access from SE 162/Powell), and taking the trails up and over the butte's peak. There's a trail map at the lot, on the website, and amongst the images/photos/maps below (click on the links just above the cache logs).

From the summit area, the Mt. Hood trail is best for cache access. The trailhead is due west, a ways, from the "mountain finder" ring of arrows that's on the ground.

The cache's title refers to a similar, but fictional, place. Run it through wikipedia.com for an explanation.

The cache itself is a square clear plastic jar with a screw-top lid, about 6" tall and 5" wide. It is clearly marked as a geocache and contains a logsheet and pen.

For first to find there is a toy soldier, 2 YAG laser crystals, and a toy car.

It's in a fairly obvious spot, so use the force, and please cover it back up well when you finish.

Have fun!
