Samlingsplassen i Fiskviklia, ei bureisningsbygd fra 1930 åra.
Her har folk slitt med mangt et redskap for å fjerne stein og bryte seg jord. Stubbebryteren var da et godt hjelpemiddel. Små bruk ble ryddet og ei lita grend ble til. Kjerringene drev gardsbrukene mens mannfolka jobbet i skogen eller i fløtinga.
Parkerer du nede ved Storsjøen, kan du følge den gamle bureiservegen hit opp. Denne veien var ferdig i 1938 og ble bygd med menneskekraft og håndredskaper.
Langs denne vegen har folk fraktet hjem det meste på ryggen. Nede ved sjøen lå butikk, postkontor, bakeri og hotell. Skolevegen var lang inn til Åkrestrømmen.
The place of meeting at Fiskviklia is called the Happy Corner.
In the 1930, they built up these farming of new land. The settlers use their hands and stump puller to clear new land.
The wife worked on the farm, took care of the children and the dairying. The man works out in the forest or raft timber down the river.
The old road goes down the hillside to the lake Storsjøen, the shop and the post office. In the days of old, they have to go on foot this road, carrying the goods on their back.
