This cache is at one of our favourite overnight spots when we're
boating towards Warwick This third incarnation replaces the
previous one which disappeared and the first which was regularly
removed from its hiding place (the missing brick in the viaduct
wall). This new container is only about 30 feet from the old
position and is one of our visible invisible caches.
Finding this cache involves walking the towpath beside the lock.
You will not need to cross the lock.
The inner cache container is quite compact with room for the log
book and pencil and a few small swap items.
Please take care to replace everything carefully leaving the cache
as you found it.
***Canals and water are not inherently
dangerous if common sense is used, but children should be carefully
supervised***
The cache can be done as a cache and dash from the parking place
indicated, by boat, or as part of a towpath walk which might
include our Upstairs, downstairs cache and could extend to our Top
Shop series.
Until recently there was good view of the lock from the top of the
old railway viaduct. However H&S seems to have intervened and
railings now block access to it.
