Geocache Description:

Aloha, This cache is located a few miles North of Kawaihae Harbor. The terrain is easy considering you will be walking or driving for a short distance on a 4 wheel drive road.

This cache is located at a great place for whale watching. Humpback whales migrate to the warm waters of Hawaii from Alaska and are best seen November through March. You will often find organized whale counts on this part of the island for estimates on migration numbers and calf births. If you live on the Big Island or just visiting try volunteering for a whale count, you will find it very fulfilling and educational. (visit link)

If its not winter this cache has more to offer, Sunsets are often spectacular along this coast and it features one of the only views of Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualalai volcanoes all at the same time. If you have some time bring a picnic and explore this area. you may find a private cove along the coast and swimming/snorkeling activities come highly recommended.

You will notice lots of dirt roads in this area, many of these roads are 4 wheel drive. You will NOT need a 4x4 vehicle to find this Cache, because this cache is a few hundred yards off the highway we suggest finding a safe place to park and then walk. If you plan to drive off the highway onto the dirt roads use cation, there is often as much as a 1 foot drop off from asphalt to gravel.

The cache is a medium sized cylindrical container (clear). In this cache you will find a wine key, maybe bring a bottle and enjoy. We are collecting wine corks and would like it if you left yours in the cache. You will also find some cardboard paper and crayons in the Ziploc, please express yourself and add to the drawing. Aloha, Sessions Bro's
