This is an easy "park-'n-grab" cache, and is accessible via unpaved gravel drive.The cache is a military ammo can, and contains a log and several trackables. Please try to leave trackables (travel bugs, geocoins, etc.) if you take one.
This is an historic cemetery with many stories to tell if you carefully, and respectfully, read grave markers. You can match up many names to early pioneers with biographical information found in a book available locally, "The Magnificent Marathon Basin." Many descendants of these families still live in the community, and surrounding ranches. The Big Bend of Texas is rich in history of native inhabitants, early explorers and hearty settlers. Be sure to check out the Museum of the Big Bend at Sul Ross University in Alpine, 30 miles west. Thanks for visiting.
