Easy park and walk to cache
It seems that nearly every cemetery in this area has a cache in it. For the few left out, I have decided to try and place a cache in them. I will call them “FINAL REST STOPS” or FRS’s. I will try to include a short history of each cemetery. Happy hunting.
The Lutheran Cemetery was started in 1916 when Fritz Bredemeyer sold two acres to The Lutheran Church in Winters, TX. On June 28 of that year title was conveyed for $10.00 for the two acres. The cemetery was to be used by members of The Lutheran Church. Also in the deal, one fourth of the cemetery land was reserved for Bredemeyer descendents use.
The cemetery is located about two miles west of downtown Winters, Tx on the north side of highway 153. It is located on the edge of Kornegay Hill. There is a panoramic view of Winters to the east. The cemetery is currently ¾ full. The first recorded burial was an infant of Mr. & Mrs. E.F. Salge
