Geocache Description:

A quick cache at the end of the Selwyn River.

It's a fairly tranquil place out here - end of the line really for this river before it becomes part of Lake Ellesmere.

Started in the 1920's when the river had more of the wet stuff flowing it was a popular spot for fishing. A few huts were built and they have increased in number since. It was the more "rustic" cousin to the Upper Huts and was a popular place for the blokes to come without the rest of the formality of the bunch up the road.

You can see some great sunsets from here as I did when I was placing it - it being a bison type tube. Watch out for the kids and the water.
