We recently rented a home in Carefree, Arizona near an area where I spent many happy hours growing up. Our family had a summer cabin in Lower Camp Creek. In those long ago days it was a long trip across Phoenix up Seventh Street out to the super boonies along the Cave Creek Road on mostly wash board dirt roads to get to the cabin. Never in our wildest dreams did we expect the little cow town of Scottsdale that closed up in the summer to expand out to within a few miles of the cabin. On our trips out to the cabin many times we had to stop at a little general store at the junction of Lower Camp Creek and Upper Camp Creek. Now days there is little left of this establishment except part of the foundation and the memories that accompany it. So we decided to place a cache here for those visiting the area that doesn't involve climbing to the top of any mountain.
It is in the desert so the usual care should be taken. DON'T stick your hand under any rocks without looking first. Cool dark places are great for geocaches but venomous things like them too. Hint: the small square coffee can is under these rocks. We tried to make this kid friendly so at the time the cache was placed there weren't any cactus too near. But you know how the desert grows after the rains.
There is a small radio and a $1.00 for the FTF
