Geocache Description:

A series of caches to encourage a walk along the seafront at Exmouth. Due to the very busy nature of the area it has been necessary to use micros, and stealth will be required to retrieve & return unseen! For this reason the hints are quite specific.

For a nice circular walk you can use the cliff path & Madeira/Plantation Walk which run parallel to the seafront.

madeira

Madeira Walk is a network of tree-lined paths that run alongside the seafront and follow the original cliff line from the town centre to the Maer Local Nature Reserve.

Lots of very tame squirrels around.

On the seafront just along from this cache is the Clock Tower, built in 1897 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, and if you take the path upwards from the cache it will lead to The Beacon, a terrace of Georgian houses begun in 1791 which became the place to live for the wealthier members of Georgian society, including Lady Nelson and Lady Byron.

Also on the seafront nearby, between here & the Gunfield Gardens cache, is the “Hotspot” web-cam cache. 1d14c1b3-0d95-4f34-b00e-b587239f1e84
