Stumbling Over Elmer Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Runninrabbit: This one has been out for 4 years and sadly I must archive it. Too many critters and bikers have tampered with this cache lately. It was one of my first placements. I live in Camden County now and no longer work down here. It is way too much for me to keep coming down here and fixing it. This cache has been replaced at least 5 times in the last 4 years. It had a good run and lots of great memories. Thanks to all who visited.

Geocache Description:

Cache is a little more than a quarter of a mile behind the Elmer Little League Fields. There are a few small streams you can hop across or use the 2 x 4's placed along the trail. Lovely little hike through the woods of Elmer in Salem County.

I feel like there are so many things in my life that I have just "stumbled" upon. I pass this area everyday on my way to work and one day I just said "hmmm... I wonder if this goes anywhere!" Lo and behold, I stumbled upon this lovely little area the way I have stumbled into so many other things like geocaching and lava rocks.

The cache is a small container with a log, pencil and a few small items to trade. Park in the Elmer Little League Field parking lot (on Rt. 40 next to the diner). There is a path that takes you past the ball fields (stay to the left of the fields)and to a few trails that go through the woods.

There is a lot of wildlife in this area. There are many small streams running through to Elmer Lake back here. I did not see any wild life when I placed this cache but I did hear a lot of leaves crunching nearby. You can jump over the streams very easily or use the make shift "bridges". There are a few small logs to walk over but there is a clear path and no bushwacking is needed. Cache is close to the path. Enjoy this little hike. You never know what you will "stumble" upon. As always, I hope you are feelin' rummy!

WAY TO GO Debjoey on FTF!!!
